Bar/Car

Bringing Seattle’s DJs to the World
Friday, May 23rd
10 PM – 2 AM
FREE // 21+

I’m kicking off a new quarterly event with a simple goal: capture live DJ sets that showcase some of the incredible talent we have here in Seattle. We’ll have the decks turned 180° —and no, I’m not calling it a “B***** R***”—and we’re throwing a free party inside the legendary Bar Car of the Orient Express.

Lineup:

Clayton the Chemist
Dave Clayton is one of those DJs who flies under the radar—humble, soft-spoken, and unfailingly polite. But once he’s behind the decks? Absolute beast. Whether he’s spinning vinyl or digital, throwing down hip-hop beats or deep house, he’s got the full spectrum dialed in. Originally from Philly—where he produced most of his releases—Dave now calls Seattle home and takes full advantage of all the outdoorsy goodness the PNW has to offer. He also helps run S.E.M.P.A. (Seattle Electronic Music Producers Association), a group that supports producers of all levels through workshops and feedback sessions.

Almond Brown
With decades of experience as both a live musician and a DJ, Almond Brown delivers sets steeped in soul and rooted in a celebration of Black excellence. He’s never afraid to challenge injustice or shake up the norm, often with bursts of unexpected creativity—from podcasting to painting. The man’s got something to say, and it’s always worth tuning in.

Julie Herrera
Okay, real talk—I hate picking favorites, but Julie Herrera is one of mine. No hesitation. A seasoned DJ and a foundational member of the legendary Hit Girl Collective, she’s also one half of the Wonder Twinz with her “twin” Mz. ArTiZ. Whether she’s rolling solo or tag-teaming, Julie consistently brings huge house energy and undeniable vibes. Her passion for music radiates every time she’s behind the decks.

Mr. Linden
Yeah, that’s me—I’ll be warming up the night with the opening set, easing us in while everyone arrives and settles in. Expect vibes, not volume (yet).

Sound by Natural Selection – Expect serious THUMP, perfectly tuned to the room.

Drinks by Bryan Jarr – Our special guest bartender for the evening, JarrBar/TCHP founder Bryan Jarr, will be behind the bar serving drinks and adding some extra warmth to the Orient Express’s already fabulous crew.

This is a FREE party, so grab your friends, order some drinks, and get your photogenic selves ready—we’re documenting this! Let’s make “The People of Bar/Car” cooler than “The People of B*** R***.”**

TL;DR:

Free party. Great DJs. Real sound. Strong drinks. Beautiful people.
Come through. Let’s show the world what Seattle’s got.
